How to Add Google Analytics Tracking Code on Blogger?

This tutorial explains how to install or add or insert Google analytics tracking code on blogspot blogger.  In order to add Analytics code on Blogger, you must a have an active Blogger blog. If you don't have active blog then you can create it from here.

What is Google Analytics?

Google Analytics is a website statistics tracking service offered by giant Google that generates detailed information stats about a website's user traffic, traffic sources of  referrers including search engines and social networks, and measures conversions and more.

How to Get Google Analytics Tracking Code for Blog?

1. Goto Google-Analytics home page.

2. Click "Sign Up" button at right side corner.

3. Enter "Account Name" in Setting up your account page. Account Name is a reference name for your all websites or blog. In this field, i gave "DineBlogs" as my google analytics Account Name.

• In website property, enter the website short name for your reference. For an example, my blog name is "dinetricks.blogspot.com" so I have entered website name as "dinetricks".

• Select the category, Reporting Time Zone for your blog from the drop-down menu.

• Press the "Get Tracking ID" button.

Now you will be re-directed to the new page, which will shows the Universal Analytics tracking code for this property.

How to Add Google Analytics Code to Blogger?

There are two ways available for to add google analytics tracking code to your blog.

(a). Simple Method
(b). Advanced Method

(a). Simple Method

In this method is only for the person who doesn’t know about programming knowledge in HTML. You can simply add analytics tracking ID as directly to your blog via settings tab.

1. Go to settings option from your blogger dashboard.

2. Click Other option from the menu.

3. Goto "Analytics Web Property ID" option at bottom of the page and enter the "Analytics tracking code" of your website, which you got it from Google Analytics page and save the settings.

b. Advanced Method

In this method is only for the persons who has the knowledge in html, xml, php programming. You can add universal Google Analytics code via "script". For adding this you must know some knowledge in html.

1. Before doing this you should backup your blogger template for fix future design issues. Go to Template option in dashboard menu and press "Edit HTML" button from your blogger page.
2. Find this tag </body> using search option from the HTML template source code.
3. Copy and paste the tracking java-script code into above </body> tag to track.
4. Save the template.
